Higher-ed Design Reviews

circa 1978 works with a team of higher-ed experts to provide an independant expert analysis of your school's design/user experience. External reviews can idenitify a different set of problems than an internal review of your site will. Our experts are looking at your site with fresh eyes that are untainted by years of working on the problem. We are free to make our recommendations with out concern for internal politics so we can focus on helping you improve your user's experience on your site.

We provide a heuristic analyses your site focusing on the user experience or usability of the site. Optionally we can also analyse your sites accessibility, use of technology, search engine optimization, and use of social media.

We base our analysis on best practices as idenified by the over 1000 sites we have reviewed while running eduStyle, the leading higher-ed web design community. Each of our experts also has several years of experience working in higher-ed and is familiar with the common problems facing higher-ed institutions.

We have the experience necessary to provide you with an independant and honest expert review of your site. With this analysis you will be prepared to move into a redesign or to make incremental improvements to your site.

Who should get a design review?

Design reviews are good for any site at an stage in the design process. You may want to consider a design review if:

• you are trying to determine whether it is time to redesign your current web site
• you are begining a redesign and would like to benchmark your current design and identify problems that need to be addressed
• you have developed a prototype or beta site and would like to identify any problems with the design before a wider release
• you have recently complete a redesign and would like to refine it and identify any outstanding problems
• you would like to make some incremental improvements or realign your site to it's goals

Timelines

Reviews typically take four weeks and need a few weeks lead time before the intended start date.

Deliverables

You will receive 40-80 page report depending on the areas convered and the number of issues identified. All reports include a descriptions of problems and issues and recommendations based on and including examples of best practices in higher-ed.
